God Has Plans

God Has Plans

From eternity past, God has had very specific plans for His creation.

God Has Revealed His Plans

In His love and grace, God has given us the important aspects of His plans. In His sovereignty, He rules over all creation.
  • Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
  • John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

God’s Word and Holy Spirit Have Revealed His Plans and Enable Our Understanding

With the indwelling presence of God’s Holy Spirit, as we read the Bible, God’s plans, standards and expectations are made know to us. With our finite minds we struggle to grasp all the details of His eternal plan; but He gives us faith to believe and always shows Himself to be righteous and reliable.
  • Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
  • John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

God’s Plans Includes a Distinction

From God’s Word and our experiences we see that there is a clear divide: Life and Death, Good and Evil, Light and Darkness. Although God is sovereign over all, you must make a choice to be on ‘God’s Side’.
  • Deuteronomy 30:15 See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil,
  • Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
  • Matthew 12:30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.

To Be on ‘God’s Side’ Requires Repentance

Turn from your sin. Run to Christ with all that you are; forgiveness is waiting for you.
  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
  • Luke 24:46-47 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

God Does Not Desire for Any to Perish

Although few will find their way along the narrow path to eternal life in Christ (Matthew 7:13-14), God finds no joy in the eternal damnation of those without Jesus.
  • Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
  • 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Choose Life – Eternal Life With God

His plan for you brought you to this point. Make a decision right now to surrender your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God’s plans include you!!!
  • Matthew 16:26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
  • Psalm 119:9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

Salvation in Jesus Christ

Every person sins. This means we fall short of the perfection (righteousness) required by God.
  • Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
The cost for our sin is eternal separation from God (spiritual death). But in His love, God made a way for the penalty of our sins to be covered – Jesus Christ!
  • Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus Christ, the human incarnation of God, came to earth and never sinned (fulfilling the requirements of God’s Law). Then He died on a cross, sacrificing Himself for us, to pay the debt owed for our sin. And He did all this while humanity was rejecting Him.
  • Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
If you believe in your heart that Christ is God and that He was raised from the dead by the power of God the Holy Spirit, declare this with your mouth by praying to God and surrendering your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. You will be saved from the wrath of God against sin and adopted into God’s family.
  • Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

A Prayer for Salvation

Pray from your heart a prayer similar to the example provided here.

Father in Heaven, I confess that I am a sinner. I understand that my sin separates me from You. I realize there is no way I can pay the price for my sin. But I know that Jesus came to this world, lived a sinless life and then died to pay the debt owed for my sin. He was raised from the dead by the power of Your Holy Spirit to show that He is God, to defeat death, and to guarantee my eternal life in Heaven. I surrender my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. By the power and promise of Your Word, I accept the gift of eternal life and,by the indwelling power of Your Holy Spirit, commit to live my life in a way that will honor You . I pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

If you understood and meant this prayer, you are now a child of God. However, you need to understand that you will never be sinless until you are in Heaven with Christ. Satan will try to keep you away from Christ’s church and other believers by telling you this isn’t real and that you are a failure.
